Adele shows off stunning weight loss as she jokes she ‘only brought half of her’ to the SNL stage in first hosting gig
ADELE showed off her stunning weight loss during her first time taking the hosting stage of Saturday Night Live.
The 32-year-old music superstar used the mic for comedy instead of music during the legendary sketch series tonight where she joked about looking a “little different.”
The gorgeous singer quipped that she “only brought half of her” from her hometown of London to NYC – where SNL films.
Adele flashed a massive smile as stepped onto the 30 Rock stage in a little black dress that hugged her curves.
She paired the piece with black tights which highlighted her toned legs and rocked matching stilettos.
To complete her glamorous appearance, the Hello songstress wore her signature blonde hair down in sleek waves and puckered up with a rich mauve lip.
Over the Summer, the mom-of-one wowed fans when she showed off her recent weight loss.
During her opening monologue, Adele commented on her highly-publicized fitness journey: “I know there’s been a lot of chatter about me just being the host.
“I’ve seen all of it, like ‘why isn’t she the musical guest’ and stuff like that.
The Grammy winner continued: “And there’s a couple of reasons. First, my album isn’t finished. And I’m also too scared to do both.
“I’d rather just put on my wig, and this is all mine by the way, have a glass of wine or six and just see what happens”
The British beauty then talked about her physical transformation: “I know I look really, really different since you last saw me.
“But actually, because of all the Covid restrictions and all the travel bans…
“I had to travel a lot and could only bring half of me. And this is the half that I chose,” she said with a smirk and curtsy for the camera.
The self-proclaimed potty-mouth then revealed the biggest reason she was “really nervous” on the legendary show.
“I always get really nervous on live TV. But tonight, especially, because I swear a lot and I’m British.”
She concluded her first monologue by showing gratitude to those who have continued woking on the frontline during the global pandemic.
As a couple dozen essential workers sat in front of the Studio 8H, she said: “I want to give a sincere thank you to the frontline workers down here in the audience.
“They say that when you come to New York, you leave a little piece of your heart. So I give mine up to you, thank you and bless your souls.”
Adele taking on hosting duties is a major accomplishment as the variety show catapulted her to stardom in the US when she was a musical guest in 2008.
The monumental TV gig is also one of the rare times she has stepped into the spotlight in recent years.
Following her 2019 divorce to ex-husband Simon Konecki, the songwriter kept mostly private and focused on her fitness routine.
As well as regular exercise, Adele has also said she overhauled her diet and cut back her tea “addiction” and ditching cigarettes.

She spoke about her love of tea in the past and said: “I used to drink ten cups a day with two sugars in each so I was on 20 sugars a day.
“Now, I don’t drink it and have more energy that ever.”
She is also said to be a fan of the Sirtfood Diet – a plan which encourages eating plant foods such as kale and buckwheat.
